Contest Rules
Eligibility
Flags Across The Nation (FLAGS) I Love America Day photo contest
is open to everyone. FLAGS Staff, Board of Directors and their immediate
family members are not eligible for prizes.
Each Entrant may submit no more than one (1) orginal and never exhibited
photo.
Use of Photos
Individuals may retain copyrights to their work, but it is expressly understood
and agreed to that by submitting an entry to FLAGS, the entrant gives permission
to FLAGS to edit, publish, distribute, and republish photos in any medium
or form. When possible, FLAGS will notify contestants whenever further
use of photos is anticipated.

Submission
Submit your photo using our photo
submission page.
Please do not call, write or e-mail about the status of a submission. You
will be contacted if you are a winner.
Each photo submitted must list the entrant’s name, address, phone number,
e-mail, photo title and a short description about how the photo relates to
I Love America Day.
Photos may be color, sepia or black and white and must be orginal and never
exhibited before. The resolution may be of any size as long as the uploaded
image does not exceed 1,000KB (1MB). Photos must not be altered in any way,
other than necessary burning, dodging and cropping. Photo entries must be borderless
and free of enhancements.
All entries must be submitted to FLAGS not later than midnight,
Eastern Standard Time, March 19, 2009.
Prizes and Recognition
There will be 3 winners selected for the contest. First place winner will receive
$300. Second and third place winners will receive prizes donated by contest
sponsors. Honorable mention winners may be selected.
Approximately 13 entries will be selected for use in a Flags Across the Nation
Patriotic Quilt. The selected photo images will be imprinted on fabric
and then sewn together to make a quilt which will be added to the current Flags
Across The Nation Flags of Freedom Patriotic Traveling Exhibit. Those
13 photographers will be recognized for their expertise, talent and contributions.
Judging
Judges appointed by FLAGS will judge all entries and select all winners. Judges
will base their decisions on creativity, content, and effectiveness. Their
decisions are final.
When the judges have made their decisions, winners will be notified. All
results will be posted on the www.iloveamericaday.org and
the www.flagsacrossthenation.org web
sites.
FLAGS reserves the right to change or amend contest rules at any time. Entries
that fail to comply with rules in effect at the time of submission will be
disqualified.
Flags Across the Nation is a grassroots 501(c) (3) non-profit/volunteer-run
organization that promotes patriotism through the arts. In 2001, FLAGS was
established in response to the terrorist attacks and events of 9/11. FLAGS
offers all Americans, of all ages, opportunities to visually demonstrate and
share love of country, respect for the American Flag and support for our troops,
wounded warriors and veterans.
